Halloween

Well, last night was the kiddos' first Halloween in a house! Since we've spent the greater part of the past few years living in non-trick-or-treating-friendly apartment complexes, we were pretty excited to trick or treat in our own neighborhood. We got together with some good friends of ours for pizza, and then were off to pillage from the neighbors! What fun!

Carving pumpkins

Thursday night was our pumpkin-carving night, and the girls had so much fun! We let them each draw the face, then Ray did the carving. Ally loved cleaning the "goop" out of the inside of the pumpkins. Sophie was excited about it too, until she realized it was slimy. Then she decided she would rather leave that part to sister...

More Fall Fun

Here are some pictures from Ally's school fall carnival. The girls had a blast the whole night, but their favorite part by far was the hot air balloon ride!

Fall Fun

Wow, this has been a busy October! We are a pumpkin-loving family, and have tried to get out and take advantage of some of the fun fall activities in the community.

Here are some pics of our trip to the pumpkin patch (ok, the pumpkins are not technically grown here, but you get the idea)...

...which inspired Ally to start her own pumpkin patch!

Welcome to our Blog

Hello everyone! Ok, we have finally given in and joined the blogging world. It actually started this morning with a question..."What is the easiest way to send our Halloween pics to all of our long-distance family?" (See, Nana? I promised I would!)

A little brainstorming over a cup of Ray's amazing coffee and voila - our blog begins! I can guarantee that this will be nothing fancy or award-winning or anything. There will likely be no deep thoughts or decorating tips (I'll leave that to my pensive, creative friends!). Just occasional updates and pictures. But it's a small step toward doing a better job at keeping in touch...

With love,
Ray & Melissa
