There She Goes...

Well, my baby is off to enjoy her first day of second grade!

Meeting Teacher

Last night was "meet the teacher" night for Ally. She has been so excited, she has been literally counting down the days on her calendar for almost two weeks! We received a personal postcard from her teacher, Mrs. Montgomery, a couple of days ago. Ally read and re-read that postcard so many times!

So we met several of her classmates, got her supplies arranged in her desk, and of course, met her teacher. So far we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mrs. Montgomery, and are looking forward to a great year of second grade!

Haircuts

Each of the girls decided they wanted their hair cut REALLY short before school starts. By that I mean that they held their hands across their ears and said "to here". After some discussion, we compromised and agreed on shoulder length. Ally's layers ended up WAAAAAAY shorter than I requested, but she absolutely LOVES her hair now. And once I got over the shock, so do I...

Project Playset...COMPLETE!

We made our list of projects for this summer even longer when we found an incredible deal on a backyard playset on Craigslist a little over a month ago. It took us about 3-4 weekends to get it cleaned up, re-painted and re-built, and we officially finished it last weekend. We figured it would be fall before the girls started really playing on it, since most days have been sooooo hot. But from the second Ray announced it was ready, they have been playing on it constantly! How rewarding it has been for us to hear the giggles and squeaking of the swings coming from our own backyard!
